Oh hey there!
I apologise in advance because this post is going to be one excited ramble… I am HYPED.
I have had my eye on the Morphe x Jaclyn Hill eyeshadow palette for YEARS. When it first came out, it sold out like hot cakes and I tried to to tell myself that was a sign and have stopped myself buying it since then because of how many eyeshadow palettes I possess but I appear to have (kind of) caved.
Okay so, it’s my birthday at the end of this month and I am planning on purchasing the Morphe x Jaclyn Hill brush set and the first eyeshadow palette. And then… Morphe morphe morphe. Morphe sent out a little email pointing out the JH volume 2 palette was reduced to just £20 for the weekend. Sorry what????? £20 for a hugely sought after eyeshadow palette containing 35 absolutely stunning shades? Doesn’t take a genius to work out I almost instantly added it to my cart and checked out. Well 2 working days later my beautiful Morphe package arrived and I legit nearly cried at the beauty.
This eyeshadow palette is BE-A-OOOOO-TIFUL. So stunning. Google a thesaurus, look up beautiful and every single word there, I would use to describe this palette. There is not even one shade that I think is just ‘okay’. Every single shade is gorgeous. Not only are the shades beautiful colours, they are crazy pigmented and feel so smooth. They glide effortlessly on to the skin. I really don’t have enough good things to say about this palette. I swatched all 35 shades almost instantly and then had a play about with shadows on my eyelids and really all I can say is WOW. The colour, the quality, the value for money… E V E R Y thing about this palette is incredible. And now, I am even more excited to get my hands on the first palette.
In my opinion there are a ton of wearable shades in this palette but also bolder shades for something a little different. I have had a play about and created some really colourful pink and purple eye looks but also something I have been loving is just using my finger to put a shimmer all over my lid. Super simple but it looks beautiful! Regardless of how comfortable you are with shadows, whether you have never owned one in your life or are a make-up pro, I feel like this palette will work for you. If you follow Jaclyn Hill on social media you’ll probably know that she wanted to make a palette that everyone could use and now that I own it, I can totally vouch for that.
I love the shade names and the thought that goes into them all! You can watch Jaclyn’s YouTube video to find out why the shades are named what they are.
If you’re in the UK you can pick this palette up on the Morphe site or Cult Beauty for just £39 – I would pay full price for this in a heartbeat. Saying that, Morphe have had this palette at 50% off twice recently so keep your eyes peeled! Let me know your thoughts if you have this palette or if you have the first one!
Until next time,
