These past few weeks have highlighted how valuable weekends are. As a student with weekdays off, the weekends didn’t phase me much. But now, as a full time teacher, my weekends are so important. I’m trying to make a conscious effort to spend my weekends well. While duvet days are sometimes a necessity, I do feel better physically and mentally if I do something worthwhile.

That said, I had the idea to start using #sundaywellspent on twitter and I decided to showcase my well spent Sunday’s every month on the blog. I think it’s important to take time for yourself and recharge so I’m hoping this wee feature will inspire others to do the same. Or, if you already spend your Sunday’s well, feel free to join in and share ideas for how to make the most of your weekend!

My Sunday’s in October were fairly busy, but in the best way. I got up early and went for a long walk with my mum to blow the cobwebs away and had done 17k steps by lunch time. I feel blessed to live in such a beautiful part of the country with incredible views on my doorstep!

A lovely weekend in Glasgow was finished off by a delish pancake stack and then a visit to the Kelpies which are unreal.
(Neither of these pancake stacks were mine but my one looked boring so…)

I drove up to spend time with family in Lossiemouth. Had lunch with a view and then walked along the stunning beach, and of course stopped for selfies.

Perhaps my favourite Sunday in October, the one spent in Rome. The Colosseum, gelato, vino, pasta, great company… It was perfect.

I’m not really sure why October was such a busy month, I guarantee November will be filled with more duvet days and Netflix binges! Let me know what you do for #sundaywellspent.

Until next time,

Shona x
