For months, I have contemplated subscribing to a beauty box. But none have taken my fancy, until now. Kinder Beauty has only just launched and this post is all about their very first beauty box. As I’m writing this, I haven’t used any of the products so this post is more an overview of Kinder Beauty and ‘what’s in the box’.

I have to give a shout out to my favourite podcast, Swish and Flick (sidenote: y’all should check this out! It’s all about Harry Potter and I am obsessed). It was during one of their episodes that I first heard about Kinder Beauty. Evanna Lynch and cruelty free beauty products? Instantly my interest was piqued. Evanna Lynch played Luna Lovegood in Harry Potter, since then I have kept up with her on social media and think she’s such an incredible human. She is one of the founders of Kinder Beauty along with Daniella Monet, who truthfully… I’d never heard of until this box, sorry! They’re both super passionate about ethical beauty and cruelty free and vegan products.

“Ethically-sourced and packaged, 100% vegan and cruelty-free beauty products, curated with kindness and delivered to your door each month.” This quote is from Kinder Beauty’s website and it appealed to me straight away.

If you read my 2019 goals post, you’ll know that I’m trying to go cruelty free with cosmetics this year, so I discovered this beauty box at the perfect time! It just made so much sense to me. Instead of buying one new product a month that I think is cruelty free, later to find out because of sister companies or whatever else that technically it’s not… I’m so excited to be subscribed to this beauty box to discover multiple, new cruelty free products each month for the same price as one, maybe two, items. It’s also so convenient to get the box delivered to my door each month… The lazy gal in my heart is very thankful!

What’s in a Box?

Kinder Beauty state on their website that each box will contain at least $65 worth of cosmetics: skincare, hair care, make up and accessories. They also make sure their subscribers know that a portion of sales go towards animal rights and environmental causes. I have never been so keen to support a company!

Products from the very first Kinder Beauty Box:

The first thing I saw in the box was a wee ‘guide’ to what was in the box. It tells you about the products, how to use them, where to buy them and so on, it’s fab!

Honeybee Gardens Effortless Eyeliner in Belgium Chocolate ($8.99)

Andalou Naturals Tumeric + C Enlighten Serum ($24.95)

Inika Organic Loose Mineral Eye Shadow ($22)

100% Pure Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream ($26)

JUARA Skincare Rice Facial Cleanser (deluxe size): This retails at $29 for approximately 125ml

There was also a bonus product in the box: B12 Spray. This appears to be a supplement to spray directly into your mouth once a day that benefits your hair, skin, and nails.

I’m excited to try everything from the box, and I hope to do a second post containing mini reviews on each product but the item I’m most excited for is the Coffee Bean Eye Cream! I was looking forward to this before my box arrived and seeing it in person has made it even more appealing to me. I’m not sure if it’s my caffeine obsession, the benefits of caffeine in skincare, or just the very cute packaging but I can’t wait to use it.

Speaking of packaging, I have to mention the incredible packaging of the Kinder Beauty boxes themselves. It’s very minimal but so intriguing and I love it. Right down to the ink which is ethical and soy-based, you can tell how much consideration has gone into every single detail of the box.

Kinder Beauty offers three subscription options which I love! There really is something for everyone. There’s a monthly plan ($24/month), 3 month plan for $66 ($22/month), and a 12 month plan for $239.40 ($19.95/month). I opted for the monthly plan to start with just to see if I do get the benefits from each box. However, I do like that the 3 and 12 month plans reduce the monthly cost. If I really like the beauty box, I’d be tempted to change my plan. If it’s something you were interested in, it’d be great to ask for money one birthday/Christmas and subscribe for 12 months and not have to think about finances again. (This is my current plan depending how much I’m enjoying the box!) If I remember correctly, P&P was $2.95, I was worried about being hit with a customs charge when the box arrived but thankfully, this was not the case. From when I got an e-mail to say the box had been dispatched to receiving it, it took 9 days which I thought was fantastic from the US to UK.

How does all this transfer to GBP(£)? I could be mean and leave it to you to convert yourself but, I’ll be nice… First time for everything, ha! The monthly box at $24 plus shipping at $2.95 converted to £20.91; I was sooo impressed with this! £20 for 5 full-size products, a travel size, a bonus item AND shipping and handling from the US? I don’t think anyone can deny this is excellent value for money, not to mention you’re supporting some great causes.

I think it’s obvious from the post that I love this beauty box, I’m delighted I chose to subscribe and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a beauty box subscription. Like I said previously, I’m hoping to post again once I’ve used the products to give some mini reviews. I want to keep this up each month alongside a more in depth ‘What’s in the box?’ post.

Have you ever heard of Kinder Beauty? If not, I hope you’re now considering subscribing in the future! Let me know!
