I feel so behind… With uni deadlines, completing blogmas and the general stress of Christmas, I have accumulated a fair bit of make-up over the Winter months that I haven’t had the chance to write about. I made a fair few purchases on Black Friday and Cyber Monday and I was incredibly lucky at Christmas time too so wanted to share the new products with you all.
When I looked out all of the products to write about them and take photos, I realised there is going to be a pretty major theme throughout the post. Almost everything is from Tarte Cosmetics. The first time I bought something from Tarte was Summer 2016 and slowly but surely fell head over heels with the brand.
I told myself I wasn’t going to get sucked into Black Friday sales but when I clicked onto the site and realised I was getting 25% off, of course I had to purchase something. Tartelette Toasted had not long launched and everyone was obsessed. I knew I wanted it so at such a good price, added it to my cart. Fast forward a couple of days and I get an e-mail about Cyber Monday deals. I contemplated more purchases all day and eventually decided I could justify buying more at about 11pm. I repurchased the Amazonian Clay 12-hour Foundation and treated myself to the Rainforest of the Sea Water Foundation and Clay Play Face Palette. This should have set me back just over £100 and I paid just over £40! An incredible saving and I knew I wanted to buy each of those products so didn’t feel too guilty.
Throughout December, tarte were doing more discounts. I feel like it was a 12-Days of Christmas thing but I could be wrong. I’d had my eyes on their Blush Book 3 for a few months. At £57 for 7 full-size blushes and one full-size highlight, it’s good value for money anyway but it gets so much better. I paid £21! It was tarte’s deal for that day and had an additional 25% off. Justifiable in my opinion. The only thing with the blush book is the packaging is quite flimsy, just cardboard and foam. I’d read reviews about this so for £13 with discount, bought the Pop, Drop, Delight Custom Magnetic Palette. This extra palette also meant I qualified for free shipping which was a bonus.
I have to be honest and say… Most of the products I got for Christmas I knew were coming. I’d ordered some of them for myself on Black Friday and then said to my mum/Ian, ‘fancy giving me money and this can be a present?’ oops!
I received the limited-edition treasure box collector’s set from my parents and I love it. It’s absolutely stunning and I’m already thinking it would be a fabulous travel companion. 24 eyeshadows, two blushes, two bronzers, a highlight, eyeliner, mascara, lip paint, and a wee mirror all in one palette. It looked quite big on the website but I actually think the size is perfect for taking on a long weekend or holiday.
Ian completely spoiled me over Christmas, and not just in terms of make-up. He got me the Goddess Glam Eye and Cheek Set. A travel-size palette containing six eyeshadows, a blush and a highlight. The set also came with a travel-size lights camera lashes mascara. Of the three I’ve tried, this is my favourite tarte mascara. I also received the limited-edition mermaid kisses lipstick set. Four mini colour splash lipsticks in the most stunning shades with gorgeous packaging! I hope tarte consider releasing similar sets in the future with different shades because they’re a firm fave! A total surprise from Ian was the Park Ave Princess Chisel Palette. I don’t have words for this palette, everything about it is stunning. There’s two matte highlighters, two matte bronzers and two shimmer bronzers. It’s perfect for creating a custom bronze and it’s just wow! If you’re in search of a new bronzer, spend the extra cash and buy this bronzer bar. Ian also gifted me the most stunning set of Harry Potter make-up brushes. They’re super soft and great for creating a gorgeous eye look.
The last thing to feature in my post is the Sephora Favorites Lip Kit: Give Me Some Bold Lip. This was a gift from my bestie and it’s amazing. It contains six lip products, two of which are full size. I don’t even know what else to say about this because I just love it. It’s such a great set and I’m super happy to own it!
Unfortunately, mainly due to uni, I haven’t had as much time to play around with products as I hoped I would after Christmas. I’m hopeful moving forward I will be able to test all these products properly and make firm decisions about them. I’m keen to get some in-depth reviews on the blog about these products once I’ve used them more. Which reviews would you like to see first?
Let me know if you’ve tried anything from this haul or if you’re keen to!
