Happy New Year!

I want to start this post by thanking every single person that read, liked and commented on my blog last year. When I started in February, I did not think I’d get where I am today. In comparison to some, my blog hasn’t had a lot of views but I reached my goal for 2017 so I am one happy bunny.

I was being a bit of a negative nelly last week and wasn’t going to do a post like this but, I’ve put on my positive pants and decided that a blog post with all my hopes for 2018 is the perfect place to document them. I guess they technically are resolutions but I’m not calling them that, goals seems more positive and I feel like resolutions tend to be forgotten after a few weeks in the new year.

I’m due to graduate this Summer and I couldn’t be more excited or terrified. As much as I complain to high heavens about uni, it’s comforting that I’ve been going to the same place with the same people for three and a half years now! (Scottish uni is 4 years). I’m on track for a First-Class Honours degree and it feels like a LOT of pressure. I’m going to work my butt off but try and rationalise that if I don’t achieve it, it is NOT the end of the world.

  1. Start my postgraduate degree

Okay so first, I need to get accepted for this one. I’m applying to do a postgraduate degree in primary education and if I’m successful, I’ll be back to uni in August. Teaching is something I’ve always wanted to do so my fingers, toes and everything else are crossed for this one!

  1. Lose weight & get fit

This may seem like a very cliché goal and I know a lot of people in the new year have the same one but its important to me. I had a very stressful and hectic 2017 and weight loss took a back seat. I’ve still lost a fair chunk of weight from when I started Slimming World in 2015 but I’m not at my lightest anymore. I am determined this is the year I get to target and stay there. I also really want to start taking the gym seriously and make progress, not excuses.

  1. SAVE

I am terrible when it comes to saving money but I really am going to try. All being well, I’ll be in full time work Summer 2019 and looking to move out of my parents’ house. I don’t want to waste money on rent when I have so much time to save up for a mortgage so that is the long-term goal. Suse, if you’re reading… I hope you’re impressed!

Those are the main things I hope 2018 has in store for me. Of course, I want to spend time being happy with the people I love. I want to go on holiday, enjoy nights out and weekends away. I want to put even more effort into my blog and not let it stress me out. I want to spend more time doing positive things like reading and being creative.

What are you hoping to achieve in 2018? Let me know in the comments or link me to your own post
