It’s the 21st December, I’m sure by now everyone is starting to think about what you’ll wear on Christmas Day, maybe even Hogmanay and beginning to ponder what make-up you’ll be wearing for the festivities. I wanted to put together a wee post to showcase my top picks for a festive lip. This could easily have been a post dedicated to MAC but I have tried to branch out!

Ruby Woo, Retro Matte Lipstick – MAC Cosmetics

This was an obvious pick. This is such a stunning shade, it’s so pigmented and the staying power is incredible. This can be quite drying on the lip so it’s not one for you if you’re lips are dry or cracked, unfortunately!

Daiquiri, Colour Splash Hydrating Listick – Tarte Cosmetics

I got my hands on this over Summer and instantly fell in love. As its name suggests, this is really hydrating and feels so moisturising on the lip. It’s longevity isn’t out of this world, but it does give a good few hours.

Cheerleader, Tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint – Tarte Cosmetics

This is described as a ‘hot cherry’, it’s the perfect festive red and will last all day. This does require some precision to apply because it does dry really quickly so it can be difficult to do any tidy ups that are needed.

Taupe, Matte Lipstick – MAC Cosmetics

Taupe is a reddish-brown, great if you don’t want to go boldly red. It may be nude but it will get you noticed.

Venus, Liquid Matte – Huda Beauty

Similarly to Taupe, this is a bold nude. Unlike other liquid lips, it doesn’t feel too heavy or drying on the lip so it will be great for a full day of festivities.

Swatches with Flash: L-R Venus, Taupe, Ruby Woo, Daiquiri & Cheerleader

Let me know what you’ll be wearing on Christmas Day! Do you like my lip picks?
