MOTHER’S DAY GIFT GUIDE

Mother’s Day is coming up and although I’m not a mum, it’s one of my favourite days of the year. You shouldn’t show love and appreciation for someone just one day a year but it is nice to have a special day dedicated to all the special women out there.

Sometimes it can be difficult though… My mum is one of those amazing women that deserves the absolute world. I wish I could afford a luxurious holiday or another puppy but my budget (if I’m lucky), stretches to a candle and some chocolate. Keeping this in mind, I wanted to put together a gift guide. It won’t break the bank but it will show the love our Super-Mums deserve.

Candles

Candles can be cliché but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. My mum always has candles on the go and these days, you get some really interesting fragrances. I usually opt for a Yankee Candle if I’m buying one. They have great fragrances, a variety of sizes and a fabulous gift section on their website!

One of my mum’s favourite Yankee Candle’s is Sweet Apple. It smells so fruity and fresh, the perfect home fragrance! Or why not purchase this Petal Bowl Wax Warmer? This comes in a few colours and it will last longer than a candle itself. Great anywhere in the house and you can even buy a few Wax Melts to go along with it.

Personalised Gifts

I am such a sentimental person. I’d much rather be given a photograph that holds a special memory than an expensive designer gift anyone could have picked out. In the past, I’ve personalised a Kindle Cover; a lunch bag; and even paid for a fantastic commission of our two dogs. Photobox have some fantastic options at really affordable prices!

Another personalised gift I’ve done in the past is a scrapbook. Paperchase always have gorgeous designs with great quality paper. This does take some creativity but it can be really fun! Although time-consuming, you don’t need to present a finished scrapbook. You can easily start with a memory or two and then it can be something for you and your mum to bond over and work on together.

Not all personalised gifts need to involve photos though. Recently I purchased a Terramundi pot for my newly engaged friend (yes, I’m super jealous too!). There are lots of colours to choose from and for an extra £3 you can choose your own personalisation. I received my order within 48 hours and hadn’t paid any extra for speedy postage.

Does your mum want to save for a sunny getaway? Or do you just think she deserves funds to spend on treating herself instead of everyone else, for once? A personalised Terramundi pot is wonderful and so thoughtful.

Beauty/Spa Day

All mothers deserve to be pampered. A lot of salons have deals available for Mother’s Day. Book in to have a relaxing afternoon together or treat your mum to a gift voucher so she can choose her own treatment at a later date.

Afternoon Tea

Obviously, this had to feature in my gift guide. Afternoon Tea is such an indulgent but relaxing day out. As with the spa day, a lot of places have offers on their Afternoon Tea for Mother’s Day. You can read my post Top 3 Afternoon Teas for some inspiration. This is what I’m treating my mum to this year. Not only do you get a few hours in great company with your special lady but you also get an afternoon of great treats.

If all else fails, you can’t go wrong with a bouquet of your mum’s favourite flowers or treating her to breakfast in bed.

I hope you all enjoy Mother’s Day, regardless of your plans.
